The cuteness launches next weekend

Spurred by the enormous crowds who gather each time the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck rolls into town, Sanrio is announcing that it will be bringing its more permanent Hello Kitty Cafe Pop-Up Container to Fashion Valley Mall after a two-year residence in Irvine. The pop-up cafe, fashioned from a metal shipping container, will open on Friday, May 11 in Macy’s Court with a free gift with purchase for the first 50 customers and grand opening specials, including daily giveaways, running through the weekend.

The fast-casual space, tricked out with plenty of Hello Kitty-themed decorations, will offer some seating on an outdoor patio. Its menu will feature pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats, including a seasonal strawberry tart and frozen strawberry lemonade, as well as specialty coffee drinks. There will also be Hello Kitty merchandise for sale, such as a limited-edition Hello Kitty Cafe Chef Plush.

The Fashion Valley pop-up, which will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., will be one of the only places in Southern California to find Hello Kitty treats and merch. A stand-alone cafe recently shuttered after a year at Westfield Santa Anita, though the company still runs the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck in addition to a mini-cafe location in Rancho Cucamonga.
